The TravelMate-Ultra

The TravelMate-Ultra is our top-of-the-line travel-style magnetic chess set.

This portable travel set comes with a truly elegant set of wooden, magnetic Staunton-style pieces turned and carved from Dark Indian Rosewood & Boxwood (w/ 1.875" King height).

The piece magnets are quite strong and hold to the surface well, yet they glide easily around the board during use, while the 9.75" x 13.75" folding-board with capture-areas (and approximately 1.125" sized squares) is finished with an attractive handmade Italian marbled border-inlay and is coated with a clear-matte, scratch-resistant laminate to protect the board for many years to come.

*Please note that the specific border-inlay material used in this set to make the folding board design may change in appearance from-time-to-time, as we often upgrade the various materials and components of our handmade TravelMate style ChessMate sets.

The TravelMate-Ultra folding board-covers are specially hinged, and hand-wrapped in elegant Imitation Ostrich material (available in Black only).

The TravelMate-Ultra is a pleasure on which to play, analyze, and compose, and it's also quite portable for playing & traveling in style whether by plane, train, bus, boat, or car. 

In addition, this portable magnetic set includes one of our CM120 Disk Piece KITS for saving ongoing game positions when the folding board is closed and stored away (some minor assembly of the chess-piece-disks is required, and the instructions are included).

And it all comes in an elegant, custom-designed imitation-Crocodile zipper-case with inner piece-pouch for easy storage and transport.
